Come and join us for the next Coastal Discovery Museum annual Native Plant Sale in March 19, 2022. The sale will take place in front of the Discovery Lab at the Coastal Discovery Museum Honey Horn grounds. Over 90 species of native plants will be available.
The Lowcountry has a wide variety of plants adapted to our environment. These native plants have great advantages, like requiring little care and providing great benefits to the local wildlife, which use their fruits, nectar, or foliage. By planting these varieties, you are helping us live in harmony with our environment. Whether you are looking for plants to attract hummingbirds, or host plants to encourage the population of native butterflies in your garden, the Coastal Discovery Museum Native Plant Sale have what you need. Local Master Gardeners at the sale can provide advice and help you find the right plants. All plants at the sale have labels with information on their growth conditions and unique natural role – whether they are used by native butterflies, bees, or provide food for birds. Azaleas, coneflowers, honey suckle, passion flowers, milkweeds and many other plants are available at the sale.
All one gallon potted plants at the sale are sold at $8 while 3 gallon potted plants are sold at $16.
If interested on pre-ordering ten or more plants of a particular species, please contact the museum’s Manager of Natural History; Carlos Chacon at cchacon@coastaldiscovery.org
