There is a new boutique store on Daufukie!

It’s always exciting that our Island welcomes a new shop. Calling itself “A coastal chic bootique, located in the historic district on Daufuskie Island in South Carolina,” Boohags offers sunglasses, jewelry, beach goods and home decor, all with the Daufuskie ‘spirit.’
The store’s name refers to the boo hag, a figure from Gullah-Geechee folklore, blending African and European traditions. This legend is especially rooted in the Lowcountry area of the Southeastern United States. Today, Gullah descendants still live on Daufuskie Island.
Located on Haig Point Rd. at the corner of our driveway Sarah Grant Rd., Boohags opened March 1, 2025. Its convenient location on Daufuskie Landing is just one mile from the County Boat Ramp and docks, on the West side of Daufuskie, near the old Marshside Mama’s.
Their resident BOOHAGS, Palma and Paloma, are always manning or ‘mannequing’ the store, sporting the new looks.

Don’t forget to meet Cosmo, the dog, the official Boohags Floofy Greeter!

On your next visit to Daufuskie Island, visit Boohags for a spook-tacular shopping experience.
